Welcome to Legacy Early College High School!
We are a campus that believes that we are stronger together than we are individually. We use this philosophy to drive our learning community towards continual success and improvement. The small size of our campus allows for close interaction between students and allows our staff to offer instruction and guidance that is targeted toward the needs of the individual.
Legacy was established in 2008 as the first rural Early College High School. Since that time, through our partnership with Temple College, we have provided the opportunity for approximately 2000 students to earn a high school diploma and an associate’s degree simultaneously at no cost to the student or their family. Many of our students are first generation college graduates, and they have gone on to continue their success in four year universities and promising careers.
Our continued growth and improvement has allowed us to offer our students the chance to pursue advanced educational opportunities through our partnerships with the UT Department of Engineering, the Angelo State University Foreign Language Department, and the College Board. As a result of our teamwork, high expectations, and targeted instruction, our students consistently perform above the state average on End of Course STAAR tests, with over 95% of students passing Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, and US History in 2016 and again in 2017. This hard work was recognized in 2016 when Legacy ECHS was named a Best Practices Demonstration Site by the Texas Education Agency.
At Legacy Early College High School, we are proud of what we have accomplished, and we believe that by working together we will continue to improve and achieve success in the future. We welcome you to visit our unique and innovative campus, and should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
"The vision of LECHS is to nurture and produce students who are ready to be successful in the 21st century and have 21st century skills.”
